Warehouse picking glossary

Definitions for pick-face validation, consolidation, pick bundles, and cluster picking — product-accurate Dark Store Systems glossary.

• Cluster picking and other picking myths — an honest guide

Cluster picking is not a live WMS mode in Dark Store Systems. Bundle pick, batch pick, and paper pick are production paths. Honest picking guide for UK buyers.

• Consolidation — parking part-picked totes

Warehouse consolidation parks part-picked totes on a grid until all bundles complete. Scan-to-park, supervisor views, and packing handoff in Dark Store Systems.

• Product bundles vs pick bundles — naming explained

Pick bundles are zone work units in the WMS; product bundles are catalog kits. Dark Store Systems picks lines and instances, not kit BOM as one SKU by default.

• What is pick-face validation?

Pick-face validation checks stock on active pick faces before bundle release. Valid, Short pick, Empty, and Not valid gate the pick queue in Dark Store Systems.
